Moon Palace Jamaica: Family-Sized All-Inclusive, Reviewed Β· Photographed in guides.

Moon palace jamaica sits on the north coast between Ocho Rios and Oracabessa, on the former Grand Palladium footprint that Palace Resorts rebranded and refurbished in 2019. Room count is around 705, and the property is billed as family-premium β€” a step below Grand Velas or the Four Seasons, a step above most of the volume all-inclusives.

The pitch is that it does family without feeling like Beaches β€” adult zones are clearly separated, kid zones are genuinely extensive, and the overall design leans tropical-modern rather than plastic-slide bright. Guest review data backs that up: families traveling with kids aged six to fourteen are the happiest demographic here.

What moon palace jamaica offers

Nine restaurants, a Flowrider wave machine, a bowling alley, a full kids club, and one of the largest pool complexes in Jamaica. The beach is a decent cove β€” smaller than Sandals Negril, larger than Sandals Ochi β€” with catamarans, kayaks, and non-motorized gear included. Rooms range from Superior Deluxe to two-bedroom family suites, with Presidential-tier options on the adults-only wing.

The food program is notably stronger than most family all-inclusives at this price point. The Italian, Brazilian churrasco, and Caribbean outlets get the strongest reviews; the buffet is adequate rather than impressive. Palace Resorts' $1,500 per-stay resort credit (applied to spa, excursions, or upgrades) is unusual at this tier and functionally takes 10 to 15 percent off the sticker price.

Moon Palace is the one I book for families where the parents want a honeymoon-adjacent feel and the kids want a water park. The adult pool at the far end genuinely feels like a separate resort.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • 01Strength: real separation between family zones and adult-only zones
  • 02Strength: resort credit effectively offsets 10 to 15 percent of the nightly rate
  • 03Strength: food quality above the family all-inclusive average
  • 04Weakness: 90-minute transfer from Montego Bay airport
  • 05Weakness: beach is smaller and rockier than the Negril options

What it costs and who it suits

Moon palace jamaica currently runs $400 to $600 per room per night in low season for a Superior Deluxe, and $550 to $900 in peak winter weeks. Family suites and the adults-only Sunrise Residences wing run higher β€” $700 to $1,200 per night in season. Kids under 12 stay free in most room categories, which is where the family math starts to work.

It suits multi-generational trips, families with kids aged six to fourteen, and couples who would have considered Sandals but want the option to bring children on a future trip. It is a weaker fit for adults-only travelers (Palace's adults-only Le Blanc brand is the better call) and for guests who want a compact, small-scale resort feel.

MAPL guests at moon palace jamaica often use the resort credit toward an off-property Dunn's River Falls day or a Nine Mile heritage tour, and many add a locally-led jerk cooking class or a river rafting experience booked separately at /explore.
